High Adventure Camp 2010

This year for our Young Men's High Adventure trip we went up to Jackson, Wyoming. We camped out at Gros Ventre Campground at the base of the Grand Tetons.
Day 1: We met at the church at 1pm, and finally left for Jackson around 2:30pm. We arrived at our campsite around 8:30pm. Bishop Taylor drove up seperately and arrived around 11pm.
Day 2: After Bro. Clegg and Bishop Taylor were yelled at in the morning by neighboring campers for all the noises our Young Men made throughout the night...we started our day.
We spent the morning visiting the Jackson Hole Visitor Center learning about local wildlife. We also walked around Jackson for an hour or so.
In the evening, we went River Rafting with Mad River Company down the Snake River. It was tons of fun! Half way down the river we pulled over for an amazing steak dinner. Bro Clegg, Hillstrom, and Bishop were the only ones brave enough to jump in the river.
Day 3: Spent the day hiking in the Grand Tetons. In the morning we hiked to Hidden Valley Falls, just above Lake Jenny. In the afternoon, we hiked up Death Canyon. Both were beautiful hikes and we all had a good time.
That night we had a special testimony meeting by the fire. It was an amazing experience! We have a wonderful group of young men, and each has a special testimony of the gospel.
Day 4: After some inspiring final thoughts by Bishop Taylor, we all got in our cars and drove home. What a fun campout! I'm sure we'll all look back on this trip with fond memories!!!

Mad River main office. It's a good thing we got there at 3:30 so we could wait around for an hour doing nothing. Great planning on our part...
The only bear we saw during the entire trip. Garrett and Brandon remained surprisingly calm despite the circumstances. Uh...Brandon...you have a bear chewing on your head...

Tuesday, May 25th, Mutual Activity

Service Project - The Priests continued their focus of Missionary Work during the month of May...and nothing really spells missionary work better than SERVICE! Garrett, Matt, and Nash joined Bro. Hillstrom, Bro. Clegg, and Bishop Taylor for a little weed pulling activity. Yes...Bishop Taylor actually pulled weeds in his Sunday's best. That's dedication.
